ABOUT SYNTHESIS DOCUMENTATION

Handmade.
In Brooklyn.

A personal practice in garment making.
A different relationship with what we wear.

THE DESIGNER / BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

Synthesis Documentation is a brand that began with the resources at Barnard College’s Design Center.

All garments are handmade by me in my Brooklyn studio, with the occasional assistance of a friend.

The materials used in construction are sourced locally in NYC.

GARMENT MAKING AS SELF-EXPRESSION

02 / THE INTENTION

Reclaiming our relationship
with consumption.

This is the main goal of Synthesis: bringing awareness to the fact that most goods we purchase today come from people and conditions we are entirely unaware of.

Self-expression and love of our human form are deeply intertwined with the love we share for clothes.

These sentiments are multiplied when true passion is put into the craft by those trying to push the bounds of creativity through garment making, rather than seeing clothes only as an outlet to extract wealth.

03 / THE PRACTICE

Made to measure.
Sewn by one individual.

Synthesis embodies slow fashion through garments made to measure and sewn by one individual.

This project is bigger than myself. I seek more individuals to join forces with, going against the grain of the fashion industry by excluding the use of exported labor and taking back the pride in producing in-house, by hand.
